As our pastor, Father Enrique invites various parishioners to join the St. Vincent Ferrer Parish Pastoral Council to serve in an advisory capacity and to assist him in serving our parish community by exploring the needs of the parish and responding appropriately. Pastoral council members do this through prayer, listening, and dialogue.
According to the Diocese of Sacramento, pastors determine the size and membership of the council through a selection process at their discretion, and the structure of the council is formalized through bylaws with an elected Chairperson and a regular meeting schedule.
Parish Pastoral Council Guidelines were approved and promulgated by Bishop William K. Weigand in 2005 and revised by Bishop Jaime Soto in 2013. As we answer and respond to the Holy Father's urging for a more synodal church, let us all remember that each of us are an important part of the St. Vincent Ferrer Parish family.
